Designer Turned Developer

I am a web designer/developer living and working in Philadelphia. I’ve worked for clients such as State Farm, Yahoo!, Nikon, and Food Network. I started my design education at Kutztown University strictly studying print design. I spent my first three years focusing on solely print and concentrating in advertising. It wasn’t until my fourth year that I began studying the web. I was immediately intruiged by the fact that the web was one area of design that could be more than subjective.

By the time I graduated I was nominated for both the advertising and interactive awards at KU, both of which are only awarded to one student per year. I received the Dianne V. Dockery award for advertising design and was on my way into the real world.

Immediately after graduating I began working for Sposto Interactive. Two years and dozens of websites later, I decided to move on from my position as Sposto’s front-end developer. I recently signed on as a designer with Electronic Ink and am ecstatic to be working in the city.

About This Site

This site is of course built to be standards compliant using strict HTML & CSS. For headers I have used the typeface Ziggurat, part of the Proteus Project designed by Hoefler & Frere-Jones. For body copy I have employed the ever popular sans-serif, Lucida Grande. This site also uses sIFR for headers with dynamic text.

Away From The Desk

When I’m not designing and making websites, my life seems to be engulfed by music. I love all aspects of it, from listening and writing, to recording and performing. I now write and produce my own songs and am preparing to release a full-length album in the upcoming year. In my most recent past I was also the lead vocalist/keyboardist for the now defunct band Alice’s Adventures.

I also enjoy shooting photography and find it to be a great supplementary talent to design. My weapons of choice are a Nikon D300 and (when I’m feeling adventurous) a Holga 120.
